Hi, I am Charity Parrott. In 2012, I graduated from The Massage School and opened Balanced Life Massage Therapy soon after, in Westminster, Ma.
My interest in massage therapy began while I was still the owner of Maternal Instinct Doula Service (2006-2012). I served women and their families as a birth doula and childbirth educator.
It was during this time that I decided to enroll in the MotherMassage program with Elaine Stillerman. During this time, I also enrolled in the reiki certification program at The Solstice Healing Center, completing all three levels of reiki. My goal for these classes was to be better skilled at serving my clients when they were in the most difficult parts of their labor and delivery process.
I loved doing birth massage and reiki so much that I decided to enroll in a full 800 hour course, so I could be licensed to perform massage therapy treatments in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In 2012, I graduated from The Massage School and converted my birth doula practice to a massage therapy practice.
At that point in my career, I stopped seeing birth client, focusing entirely on massage therapy and reiki energy work. It was helpful to be able to schedule my time, which was something childbirth work didn’t allow. I enjoyed seeing clients during the daytime hours and being more available to my daughters.
In the fall of 2015, I felt that desire to learn again and enrolled in the 300 hour aesthetics program at SpaTech Institute. In 2016, I became a Licensed Aesthetician and expanded Balanced Life Massage Therapy into skin care.
During the fall of 2017, my friend Sheri and I decided to start the study of reflexology. So far, it was been a phenomenal experience. We offer reflexology treatments at Balanced Life Massage Therapy and my friend Sheri Knapp will be joining us on staff. During our certification process, we offer a discounted rate for reflexology services.
Now that my children are older, I am ready to slowly rejoin the loving and caring community of birth professional. I plan on being available to one family per month as a childbirth doula. I am replenished and ready to hold space for women and their families during such a special time in their lives.
When I am not focusing on my business, I am spending time with my teenage daughters. They continue to amaze me each and every day with their drive and commitment to their own success. I never planned on being a single mother but we are surviving and even thriving at times.
My other obsessions are my two dogs, Leo and Harley, and a very large Irish Sport Horse named Tully. During my time with them, I have learned so much about canine and equine massage techniques. I also foster dogs and cats in my spare time. My time with the animals always replenishes my heart and calms my soul.
